This Candle was inspired by the time spent on Lawrence’s reserve, Siksika Nation. A deeply, profoundly powerful place. A place so ancient and so wise it rattles your very bones. You will never be the same after Siksika.
This Candle is the scent of Ceremony, of celebration, of gratitude, of Tradition. Of sage, sweetgrass, smoke. Of sweet juicy berries and sun warmed Wild Roses.
The Blackfoot are Children of the Prairies, and we wanted to create a candle which took us back to an evening spent picking
Siksika Sweetgrass. We could hear the sound of the burbling river
beside us and coyotes howling in the distance as the sky
darkened to purple and the stars began to show in the sky.
Wild horses came to visit us as we silently picked the sweet, earthy sweetgrass and enjoyed the beauty of just being.
Charred Cedar and Palo Santo give a rich, sweetly smoky scent. Grounding the wild vanilla, warmly fragrant sandalwood and sensual Santal. Notes of sweetgrass, sage and sun-warmed berries are beautifully balanced by the woodsy base.
Rich, exotic, spicy Cloves mingle with top notes of wild rose, iris, and sweet orange. Sun warmed Earth ties them all together in an enchanting and beautiful scent.
Plant Allies
For our Ceremony Candle, garden grown White Sage, Tobacco, Saskatoon Berry and Red Cedar are carefully harvested by hand, using traditional knowledge and the Lunar Cycles to ensure the potency of the plants are at their peak. Only fallen Cedar boughs are collected, and the Plants and Botanicals are carefully and selectively chosen, with thanks given to both Plant and Creator to ensure that the Plant continues to flourish and thrive. This care and attention to Tradition means our candles are only offered in small batches and will be slightly different each time.
The hand gathered Herbs and Botanical Plant allies are alive with magic. Each one has a sacred spirit and graciously offers up its life to us. Generously giving itself to us to use as medicine. Hand Gathered Sacred Cedar for Purifying, healing and cleansing. White Sage for cleansing your energy, removing negativity and bringing in happiness and positivity.
Sandalwood for its deeply calming, healing, soothing properties, and ability to bring one closer to the divine.
Sacred Tobacco for protection, strength and giving thanks. Berries to remind us of who we are - and to bring in happiness and joy.
Each of these candles are handcrafted using essences of locally wild foraged Plants and Botanicals. The Plants are locally distilled by hand to create Floral Waters and Essential Oils, which are mixed with a blend of organic, ethically sourced Essential Oils and Absolutes to create our beautiful candles. The Blends are carefully created with Plants selected for their specific medicines, and are then infused with crystals to heal your soul, strengthen your connection to Self and Creator, and manifest your desires and dreams.
